Bart founded Blueprint Ventures with a vision of capital efficiency, dedicated service to entrepreneurs and limited partners, and a unique sourcing approach of Corporate IP (Intellectual Property) Spinouts. These spinout deals successfully leverage prior investments of leading technology companies to gain an early R&D advantage in launching new companies. Bart and Blueprint successfully led spinouts from companies such as Intel, Fujitsu, NEC, and Xerox PARC.

Today, Blueprint Ventures yields more than 1.4 million unique Google search results. A frequent contributor to industry publications, conferences, and industry events, he is often quoted in Venture Capital Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, Wall Street Journal, Private Equity Week, San Jose Mercury News, Financial Times, CNet, The Deal and other publications. He has led investments and served on the boards of over 20 emerging technology companies including LANDesk (Avocent), Covad (IPO), Copper Mountain (IPO), Media4 (EchoStar), NorthPoint (IPO), AccessLan (AFC), IteX (IPO), GlobeSpanVirata (IPO then Conexant), Broadband Access Systems (ADC), and SpectraSensors. Bart began his investing career in 1996 at Intel Capital as Director of Networking and Communication Investments. He led deals spanning all areas of communications infrastructure including service providers, systems, and semiconductor companies. He started his eight-year career at Intel in several senior operating roles within the Networking and Communications Division. His product line responsibilities included network adapters and switches, storage area networking, network management software, security and video conferencing. Later he became responsible for several international product lines, including the acquisition and integration of a network management start-up in Israel.

Bart has a long-held interest in entrepreneurship. Before joining Intel, he started an enterprise LAN company, later acquired by Alphanet, a public systems integration firm. Passing on an offer from a leading California venture capital firm, he joined Intel to build his operating experience and track record before becoming a venture capitalist.

Bart has build thousands of relationships with entrepreneurs, VCs, limited partners, leading high tech corporations, and service providers in the United States, Europe, Israel, and Asia. Start-up CEOs look to him for strategic guidance and introductions to follow-on capital, and access to executive team members, service providers, press and conference organizers, venture debt and investment bankers. A team-oriented investment professional, he enjoys coaching entrepreneurs and CEOs on building the right combination of skills to succeed competitively. Bart's network also extends to close relationships with hundreds of institutional limited partners in the endowment, pension, fund-of-funds, consultant, and family-office communities.

Bart holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

In his spare time, Bart enjoys biking, tennis, running, and traveling with his wife and infant daughter. He has lived throughout the world and is fluent in three languages.
